Abigail Taylor: A Sapphic Fiction February Interview

This cold Tuesday morning is much improved by the arrival of Abigail Taylor’s new Valentine’s-themed novella, Unwrap Me. If her previous books are anything to go by, Unwrap Me will be full of warmth and emotional connection as protagonists Ashton and Willow discover their love again, and I can’t wait to get stuck in on my Kindle!

To celebrate the release of Unwrap Me, Abby is Day Seven of Sapphic Fiction February! Make sure you go and check out her books today!

Hi Abby! Introduce yourself! Tell us a little bit about you - who are you, and what do you do?

I'm Abigail Taylor and I write lgbtq romance. It is focused on queer females.

What made you want to sit down and write your first book?

I never thought I would write a book, but one of my friends pushed me to do it. Needless to say, I was bitten by the bug after that.

How do you develop your plots and characters?

I'm a total pantser. I don't plot anything. I get an idea in my head and just see how it goes.

Which of your characters do you relate to the most, and why?

I would every one of my main characters have a piece of me in them.

Has your own writing ever made you cry?

Unfortunately, yes. I draw on a lot of my own experiences, so it can bring back some difficult memories.

Does anyone you know in real life read your books?

Just my partner.

Imagine your book, or one of your books, was made into a film. Who would play the lead roles?

Oh wow. That is very difficult. For my latest release, Chasing Life, I think Jessie could be played by Cara Delevingne and Dove Cameron could play Jazz. 😁

When you’re not writing, what do you do to relax?

I love working out, listening to music, and read. I do all three at the same time too 😆

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given with regards to being an author?

Don't compare yourself to others.

How about in general life?

Probably the same thing! I read one time that comparison is the death of happiness.

What is a motto you live by?

Be kind. The smallest act could change someone's entire day.

How can people connect with you?

Finally a light-hearted one. If you were a sandwich, what sandwich would you be?

A grilled cheese. I make people feel comfortable and happy 😁
